straightface
Why has nobody commented on this at all? You want comments right?
This is great. I mean, I really really did like this one. I'd have to say I'm more partial to prose, which is what I would consider my favourite form of expression, other than music. I like it better than poetry, actually, because there's a story you hang between the lines, without realizing it. Okay. This one in particular: I love the theme. I love the not letting go. I absolutely identify with almost every emotional aspect of this poem. I'm glad you wrote this, because this does exist, these kinds of feelings exist, these situations arise, and it's not always easy to let go of what you used to have, even if you never had it at all. Especially if it's someone that close to you, it's not a kid writing about her boyrfriend, it's a bond that was made on lies and things that were never really true. I got that out of it, at least.
Your family, your wife, your children, they are all just figures of your imagination. Only lingering in the back of your mind
This is the line I identify with. This line is me, only from a different point of view. I love it.

Wow, I'm glad you liked it. I'm glad you could identify with it--that;s what I want from readers. I want people to say "Oh yeah, something like that happened to me."
"it's a bond that was made on lies and things that were never really true." That's exactly it. Before we realize reality, we paint these fantasies in our heads. A bond grows on these lies and false assumptions. You are exactly right.
Thank you so much for commenting. I love when people comment.
You rock.
