This was originaly a piece of another poem I have posted on here and then I realized it in no way related to the rest of the poem, so I cut it, but I liked it a lot. To me it describes being a teenager, but it could be so many things.

we are the unwise
who move in strange ways
and revel in imagined immortality

"Hold my head inside your hands.
I need someone who understands.
I need someone, someone who hears.
For you I've waited all these years.

For you I'd wait 'til kingdom come,
Until my day, my day is done.
And say you'll come and set me free.
Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me."
