okay, i was in a sentimental mood when i wrote this, it's like one of my only happy poems, seriously, but i don't know if i like the end, i don't really think i do, any suggestions how to fix it?
When we were younger
he was always quieter
always sweeter
always better
and they all sighed after him
and everyone would always say
“he’s such a good boy”
they’d pat him on the head
and tell him he was so wonderful
And when we got older
he was always faster
always stronger
always nicer
and they’d put his name in the papers
and on the announcements
and everyone would always say
“he’s such a good boy”
and they’d give him a medal
and tell him he was so good
And when we graduated
he was always taller
always handsomer
always smarter
and they all smiled at him
and let him give the speech
and everyone would always say
“he’s such a good boy”
they gave him a scholarship
and told him he was so brilliant
And the year I fell in love with him
he was always more romantic
always more perfect
always more loving
and they all wanted him
and stared at him longingly
and everyone would always say
“he’s such a good boy”
and they’d give him a kiss
and tell him was so amazing
And the second year I loved him
he was always more unattainable
always more dedicated
always more preoccupied
and they all watched him
and tried to have a chance
and everyone would always say
“he’s such a good boy”
and they’d ask him on dates
and tell him he was so perfect
And the year he loved me
he was always there
always caring
always loving
and they all hated me
and sighed with envy
and everyone would always say
“he’s such a good boy”
and I gave him my heart
and told him I loved him
he said he loved me too
and we all say
“he’s such a good boy”
and he is
