I smile
run my fingers
along the strokes of midnight
painting the rain
swirls of dark magic
cloaking me
waltz with shades
black velvet spirits

arsenic and old lace
black lace
widow’s seduction
studded with jewels
of blood
gossamer veils
of lies
black lies
stained white
hiding your face
veins filled, running
with poison
the sickly sweet poison
of desire
might as well be arsenic

valentine in blood
the color of your lips
blow a kiss
don’t tell
my hair is satin
black satin
lining my bed
dripping with poison
can you taste it?
hands buried
in black satin
smooth as the dark

the blanket of night
tucks me in
sings a lullaby
of stained black lies
my soul is silk
black shattered silk
ravaged beauty
in the moonlit dark
