another poem about my character La Femme Mystique from Eulogy of a Dreamer.
Tonight
Tonight you may see any number of things Those that twirl, and dance, and are contented to sing With much gusto, you must know The theater’s the thing
Tonight you may hear a ballad or two Or even a ditty about a witch’s old brew A lovers’ quarrel, even a moral And a count with his nose all askew
Tonight is the night for lover to kiss And lances to miss, the magic exists A fight, a knight And even flight, oh what could ever go amiss.
Tonight for you the cards will shuffle The wine will pour, and skirts will ruffle A king, a ring, Along with his queen will all get lost in the scuffle
Welcome lovers, seers, and pets; I am your host A harlequine of sorts, but I don’t mean to boast What’s that, the first act? Oh here’s the part that I love most.

this poem tastes of classisism... well written... i wud choose object instead of thing to end the first stanza with though.. makes it less repetitive, adn thing is not a beautiful word..
