Okay this is one of my favorite little musings I like to call a set of tuneless lyrics. Isn't that hysterical? I don't even have music for this! But it does have a beat which I guess is why I put it here...
Nightmare
It’s too different, It’s surreal, It’s surely a nightmare, That’s just the way I feel
Wake me up when it’s over, Wake me up when it’s fine, Shake me awake when dawn breaks, Now is the time
How could I be so careless? Could I have prevented this? I have to start over, Live a new life
There are times when it just seems, Like an extremely vivid dream, But if that’s so, Why won’t I wake up?
Wake me up when it’s over, Wake me up when it’s fine, Shake me awake when dawn breaks, Now is the time
Dreams are broken, friendships fading, Life goes cold yet summer’s hardly waning, Pain still throbs through a bent heart, Lungs still scream for air in this darkness
Wake me up when it’s over, Wake me up when it’s fine, Shake me awake when dawn breaks,
Now is the time

I like this, but I've always loved references to dreaming. And you said "surreal" which is one of my all-time favorite words. A very nice song indeed, but I think in a few parts it needs some work on rhythm.
