OK, I deliberated and debated and consulted my family, but I can NOT choose between the two poems named below. The Best Poem winners are:
"Gathering Dust" by onemoremile Fantastic use of language, loved how you said it was not empty but simply full of nothing, it is such an accurate and descriptive phrase. Like you feel it's not empty, but it doesn't really contain anything material, either. All in all beatufil piece, such emotion. Also, a poem that is easy to relate to. Everyone has someone they've lost and you've captured the feelings that come at such a time with poetic accuracy.
*and*
"Satin and Satire" by ScarletMornings Excellent comparisons in this poem, the imagery by itself is such a great achievement, but to weave it into a poem that has such a powerful meaning is definitely something to be proud of. Also, the lengthiness of the poem really worked well with it, you handled your words well without stumbling over them or forgetting the theme along the way.
So, congratulations to both of you, and thank you for writing such beautiful pieces.
