Marshmallows floating around a star of whipped cream, Steam rising from the caref’lly handled mug. Hands red and chapped, though mittens were worn, Cold red cheeks turn warm with the hot chocolate drank. Snowmen were made, snowballs thrown. Snowhouse by the road, made and lived in. Bright fire in the chimney, keeps toes and noses warm, Dog laying by the fireside, a picturesque moment. Spring comes, it all melts away. Snowhouse fallen with the fort, Snowballs replaced by flower buds. Fire is now long gone, smoke no longer rising from the chimney. The dog runs outside, in the melt caused mud. Hot chocolate is done, marshmallows now roasting on the fire. The winter wonderland is gone, but the next is waited for.

It's kind of cliched in some parts but I like how you used a longer format.
