Sarah sat perched atop the arm of the couch in the living room. The cold winter wind blew strongly outside and she was glad to be warm inside, with pajamas on. She glanced to the clock across the room to the microwave in the kitchen, "ugg 7:20, its way to early to be up on winter break oh man." Sarah looked around the room at the house that had been her house for the past year, "man this place is really home for me, it'll be sad to leave." She was thinking back on the events of the past year and then her mind drifted to her future in the "valley of the sun" as the real estate agent had called it. "Ya know I think I'll miss the snow and grey clouds, sun oh boy, sun burns and skin cancer." She shifted her clear blue optics over to the table by the window, it was a mess of old pictures and hockey trophies. Sarah inhaled a deep breath, she exhaled, "those were good times."
Once again her optics slid over the table, they landed on the graduation picture of him. He for one reason or another mean't the world to her, the number 55 was her favorite number for months it had been tatoo'd to her hand in permanent marker. It was his hockey number and she loved it, afterall he only came to live with them because of hockey. The best guy they had, a California boy and a Canadian, it was the greatest combo and, heh, he played hockey. Sarah always had a soft spot for them hockey chaps. Boy he had looked great on the ice in his jersey knocking those other kids out of the way. "He looks to old to only be a highschool senior, eh maybe its just the goatee, man I miss that kid."
Sarah lifted her gaze of the picture of the boy with blue eyes and just sat there staring at the wall, lost to the passageways of her mind. She remembered one night in particular, he had just arrived back home from hockey practice. As he walked in through the garage two heads popped out of the door then four arms holding a combined total of eight beanie babies. "Attack!" hollered the shorter blonde girl. The beanie babies began to fly hitting the walls and him and the other hallway doors. Bursting with laughter at his shocked look the pair retreated back behind the door to load up with more "ammo." This time he was ready, as the two young girls dashed out from behind the door flinging beanie babies towards him, he fought back throwing the same ammuntion at them as well. "Retreat!" screamed the taller brunette. "Not so fast," he cackled grabbing the two by their waists as he headed for the back door "now you are gonna get it." The girls giggled and squired trying to break free from his strong grasp, without much luck. Out the back door they went heading towards the watery pit before them. "splash" the two girls went tumbling into the pool. "Get him!" they shouted to the babysitter, now at the back door, as they climbed out. Another splash and he went tumbling into the pool. The girls threw their heads back almost falling over with laughter.
Tell me what you think so far...
