It's odd really, like even when I write a story for school, I always sound so serious. Humor just can't seem to find a way to slip in through my pen. Like even when I allow my mom to read my latest poem or prose she always comments on how sad I sound. I'm not sad, really i'm not. It;s just the way i write.

to be honest, most of the sad energy i have goes into my poems. so if you just read all my poems i would prob seem like a cyncial, sad person. but i'm really not that way at all in person. i looove laughing and making jokes and i'm usually a happy cheerful person. i guess my sad energy has to come out somewhere though, and it seems like its my poetry where it does.

Same with me. I often find it difficult to just tell someone how I feel. Actually I never tell anyone when i'm sad I just wait until night to cry silently in my bed. Writing my emotions down seems so much easier to do than speak it. All emotions not nessecarily sad ones but I have yet to write a happy poem or song. Probably because, like you said, I enjoy laughing and joking around. So my happiness floods through my laughter where as my sadness drains through my paper.

I think maybe the opposite of what we are on the outside finds it's way into our writing. I try to write how I AM, though. Maybe it's just one of those things some people can do and others can't. Or perhaps I am insane.

Hmmm, it seems I am insane, but do insane people wonder whether or not they are insane? Something to ponder. Hee hee, "quotey."

Quotey is now my new favorate word as well. I used at least 10 times today and all of my friends just stared at me kinda funny. So yeah maybe i'll diminsih the overexcessive use of it a little.

Ahhh, that's a tough one. In school and around my friends and such, I can joke around and laugh no matter how bad I feel inside. But when I write a poem or anything person for myself...I can't lie to /myself/. The truth just sort of slips out of the pencil and onto the paper without my knowing.

"quotey" i love it! hehe! no, all the bad emotion that we don't use has to go somewhere, right? i know i'm happy most of the day, but it's just easier to write about dismal times or sorrow or depression. i dunno, it feels sort of weird to me to write something.........happy. does that make me weird? does that make any of us weird?

Yeah, same for me most of the time, I'm such a hppy person that some of my poems seem kind of not me, kind of serious (which I am NOT) which is weird for me, but, like you said, it has to go somewhere. That and about every three months I start crying for no reason whatsoever, which is rather odd and often happens at socially crippling times.

I suddenly realised a year ago that I could be really funny.. I think it was that I started to read funny books with protagonists that were much like me.. No i have written soo much selfbiographical stuff that people find hilar.. wish i could post it but then I would have to translate it and some of the magic would go lost..
So now suddenly my friends regard me as a funny person.. sorta like Georgia in the brilliant books about Georgia Nicholsson, she is my hero.. Most of my humour is based on cynicism, selfcritisism and evilness.. hahahahah (mad laguhter)

Ooo its becuase your'e all like 14.. that is the time when you're hormons go nuts and life seems horrible at times.. It doesn't get bnetter but one learns to deal with it..
My poetry is never funny though, humour with thematic undertones doesn't work that well in poetic form..
