this is a lot different poem than from what i usually write, but i was inspired by dwight yoakam, a u.s. country music star, just for those of you out of the u.s. or the u.s. country music world.
Dwight Yoakam kicks a beer bottle singing about all the blame in the world I slide in the rolling smoothness of his voice God bless country music
His voice reminds me of my days the tone of the same swelling deepness so revered to my ears so hated in my life I'm sick of waiting to hit it big watching everyone who already has I'm just left behind, I guess
But Dwight croons on funny how one of my favorite inspirations can be unknown to those I'm writing to I bet you’ve never even heard of him I guess the world isn’t that small too bad, I'd like to meet Dwight
So I sit here and try to tell you what I feel the colors of my moods inspired by a song, a voice, a word, a phrase so many little things people do can make or break my day but most of them I’ve never even met I was never that good at telling my emotions just stories of others'
So I’ll leave it to Dwight good ol’ Dwight and his fall-in-love-with-me blues voice tell us all about the blame, cowboy you say it better than I ever could

i think that of course you're amazingly talented (anyone with half of a brain would know that) and this poem really does give me a more of a feel of who you are outside of writing, so bravo.

I like this poem. It's very original in that it's written about a person, but not without being all drooly and in-love-with-Orlando-Bloom-ish, you know? Like it's a poem about Dwight Yoakam (who I've actually heard of, "Streets of Bakersfield," anyone who gives my town some recognition is OK by me) but it's more about the ideas he inspires than about how tight his pants are (and, boy, are they tight.) i'm not sure if that made sense.
