Something I wrote in second period, when I should have been working. ----- The tired faces fade to gray, The tired hearts are not the same, The tired voices call and say, “Our thoughts are not to blame.”
The lying eyes are telling truths, The lying mouths are gaining fame, The lying laughs that try to soothe, “Our thoughts are not to blame.”
The whispered phrase is coming by, The whispered words already came, The whispered sentence hangs in the sky, “Our thoughts are not to blame.”
It’s the actions that we so often take, The ones that cause the poor and lame, Or the ones that we all fail to make, But our thoughts are not to blame.

I really liked the way you used the same two words for the beginning of each stanza. I think it mades the poem. Very good job.

Thank you! I am so happy! I have no right to be this happy! I just get...smiley sometimes. It's very odd, I know. But now is one of those times.
