But how do I get a picture for the icon thingy on here? I mean, I have icon's from journals, can I not use those?
I feel dumb that I do not understand.

You click on your own username, then somehwere at teh top there should be a link that says 'Modify.' Click on it, scroll down a bit and there should be a place underneath 'Personal text' and check the box near where it says 'I have my own pic.' Then enter teh URL of your picture in teh box, underneath that there are two boxes, one for width and one for length, where you can enter the amount of pixels you want your picture to have for each measurement.

Perhaps you should make faces at it, I find that often helps, other than that, I have no idea why it wouldn't work.

What size did you size yours? Maybe that's my problem. Or does it have to be a certain file type (ie .jpg .bmp)?

It has to be a gif or a jpg. Mine is 100x75, I think.

I did my pretty randomly and it worked after a couple of tries, after tinkling with the size thing. I think I did 65 by 65 or 75 by 75... Don't remember...
Don't feel stupid--- I always have trouble with computers and technology and it seems like it's only ME who has the problem but... Oh well, I survive.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the size-thing. I like Applepics.com better, but that's just me. EVERYONE uses photobucket, but hey! if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
