whispering in my ear
so constant.
so irritating.
we don't like the whispers.
well, he doesn't mind that much.
actually, i think he quite enjoys it.
but me,
no, i don't like them one bit.
i try to tell people,
you know, to help me drive them away,
no one likes to help.
so the whispers are still here.
and as he sways to the noise,
that horrid noise,
someone walks by,
or rather something
a flashlight falls onto the floor.
the light almost hurts my eyes.
almost
he doesn't like it though.
like a crazy person, he starts yelling.
no - we start yelling.
am I still them?
it's so hard to tell with the light in my eyes.
I almost want to turn it off,
almost.
it's hurting him.
is that a good thing?
he's been here for so long.
it's almost hard to think of life without him,
without me.
a voice from out of nowhere yells.
"Be quiet! Come out of him!"
silence can almost be a scary thing.
almost.
a man dressed in white robes picks the light up.
gracefully, he hands it to me.
the warmth is very soothing.
i turn to ask him if the light is hurting him,
but he's not there anymore.
we're not there anymore.
the man with the robes smiles and walks away.
"Your demon is gone. Go, my child"
child. not children.
I almost want him back.
almost.
but then, i wouldn't be me.
