What's your diffiniton of Writer's Block?

I'd say it's when I can't think of what to add next to a story, or when I'm not sure how to word my thoughts.

What would you say? (I'm just wondering if I'm on the same page here.)

Hmmm...toughie. But here's what I think:

A mental issue where a writer, or any person trying to write, isn't thinking properly or has read too many mind-clogging cliches to write something that they think is good.

Or when someone's brain shuts down and can't think right. Whichever appeals to you more.

Writer's block is when I can't think of anything to write and either end up sacrificing good writing just so I can say I accomplished something, or find some chocolate to eat. ^_^

I think writer's block is. . . when I'm mentally blocked, I guess. When I'm not in the mood to write, or can't think of what to put next, or I just lose interest with what I'm writing, maybe.

Mwahaha!!!! sry. i would say writers block, is when you have a giant urge to write, but no words will come out , your story sounds stupid to you, you feel like throwing away your story, or you think there is no place for your story to go, as you can probably tell by my fustration, im experiencing it right now[/shadow]

An absolutely horrible condition which a writer goes through occasionaily (sp, I know)--possibly worse than the flu! Not really, but that's what it seems like sometimes!

I would say writer's block is when... I know I want to write something, and I have an idea, but I don't how to put it..

or
when I want to write, but I have absouletly(sp) no idea what to write about.

I think of WB as a brick wall. It builds up in my mind, blocking the ideas. When too many ideas pile up on the other side, the wall is destroyed. I have to write down as many ideas as I can before the wall comes back.

to me, it's also when i've got this overwhelming urge to write something and my feelings are just all there and the mood is there for a poem, but i can't find the words or the topic or the vision to write it! UGH! i hate it!! i'm kinda going through it right now.

Hmm, for me writers' block is when I want to write and I ahve something to write about, but I just can't. Or when I want to write but can't, or when I need to write and can't. Just when i can't write because I'm having a block, I guess.

When I begin to write, and then think of something (such as a twist) I can add later in the story, but have absolutely no idea how to get there.

And when my mind goes completely blank and can't think up any intelligent words. xP

I have several ways on how to define Writers Block.

1) When you really want to write and let out how you feel or a particular feeling, but when you open up to a fresh sheet of paper you just stare at it thinking, "What am I supposed to write??"

2) When you are unable to put your thoughts into words.

3) When a decent plotline is incapable of entering your mind.

I say writer's block is:

1)When I am not sure where to go next with the plot of my story.
2)When I know what I want to say but not how to say it.
3)When I stare at my computer screen for hours just trying to figure out what to write.

i gotta say that all these sound almost exaclty alike...but hey..i totally agree with everyone..lol
